The five ground rules for growing your startup

A thousand ideas gush through your mind when thinking of spreading your newly-formed startup. One wrong step and you’re prone to hitting the bottom.
So what should you do? How can you cut down your risk factors and make sure that each step you’re taking will give you assured results?

The answer to this question is sheer smartness. You can’t predict the future, but you can surely watch your step on the kind of the land you’re laying it on.

In this article, I’ve jotted down the five ground rules each person, who’s just begun his startup, to be aware of.

UNDERSTAND YOUR USER/CONSUMER

The key to success in a startup is the ability to give your user exactly what he needs. How can you do that? Keep a check on the reviews you’re getting, the category of people using your product and what suggestions are they making for it.
Understand their psyche. Establish a relationship with them. It need not be direct- use feedback forms, conduct surveys, use social media, advertise… There are so many ways for you to get down to the root level and understand what’s going on, no?
THEN TRY TO UNDERSTAND THE PSYCHE OF YOUR USER WELL.

 

BUILD STRONG CHANNELS

Channels are the pathways to building connections with users, team members, future partnerships are so many more.
In 2019, social media is the highest grossing vast networking channel that can provide you with a strong medium to advertise your product. You can make use of Twitter to type your product out in mere 120-words or you can make an attractive video endorsing your idea. From words to video, everything works for the millennial.
THEN, START USING SOCIAL MEDIA AS A STAIRCASE TO SUCCESS.

 

KEEP A CHECK ON YOUR METRICS

A round table in the center of your office with all the statistics of your performance laid down on it. You walk every day past it and you can’t help but notice it. It would just be a matter of few days when you’re aware of your metrics to the core.
Once you are in habit of measuring your performance, you will have knowledge of each nook-and-corner of your startup. You will know of the incoming and outgoing. You will know of the growth increment or decrement for each day. You will understand the share of each person.
THEN, TRY TO GET HOLD OF YOUR STARTUP TO ITS CORE.

 

KEEP YOUR TEAM HAPPY

Happy people bring in the happy vides. Happy people become sources of motivation for everyone. Happy people are magnets for success. Nothing brings more joy than a group of happy people working towards one big goal.
Understand the needs of your staff, your partners, your trainees and in fact, your various other partnerships.
You need to make your foundation strong before you start building a house over it.
Keep transparency, share your financial status, ask for help, use their ideas… Just make them feel validated. Give them a gold hold in your life and business so that they feel like putting into this startup.
Whatever you sow with your people is what you’re going to reap.
SO, JUST TRY TO BUILD A HAPPY PLACE WITH HAPPY PEOPLE.

 

KEEP ALL DISTRACTIONS AT BAY

This huge gulf between you and success are the never-ending distractions you have around yourself.
Random people suggesting vague methods, stupid trends, greed, fights, stress, unnecessary connections, and huge liabilities are some of the distractions that can become speed bumps for your progress.
Try and save yourself from these pits so that you have more time in focusing over what’s more important.
Once you recognize what slows you down, you can easily minus it and plus your growth.
SO, IT’S TIME TO STOP GETTING DISTRACTED AND GROW MORE.

These 5 rules that we just talked about, are not just theoretical talks. Once you’re into raising your startup, you would find yourself bound to follow them.
To some, these may sound words. To others, these are the mantras for success.

Try to follow them for one month, you’ll see the change. You’ll be able to understand things more easily and you will have a new ray of sunshine in your life that would help you grow as a person as well as in business.
